Larry Marcum is a friend and devoted BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville member. He volunteered much of his time, money and equipment to help the Club at all its events, and had served on the Club's Board of Directors. After his unexpected death on June 3, 2022 and following the services a number of his friends and acquaintances offered to help with any work around Larry's 80+ acre property. The date has been set.
We have talked with Larry's family and there will be a work day on Saturday, November 5, 2022. The next day, Sunday, will be an overflow day if we don't complete everything on Saturday.
Larry's son-in-law, Dusty, will help direct all of us. He also has a farm and will bring a skid steer and trailer to help put everything in a burn pile. We will be working on clearing the 1/2 mile long gravel driveway of overgrowth, pruning shrubs around several buildings and removing general debris from the driveway, around the house and other buildings. Pat, Larry's wife, will provide us with lunch and drinks while we are working. It is estimated that a crew of 10 people can knock it out in 1 day.
Tools you might bring if you have them: saws (chain and/or manual), pole trimmers, axes, rakes, a little rope if you have some, and a good sense of humor. Bring a friend if you want. I think this can be a fun time and a wonderful way to both honor and remember Larry.
Larry's home is in the Bethesda area southeast of Franklin and I will send work times, his address and detailed directions later.
