Hi All,
My wife and I just returned from a 10 day trip to Ireland, during which we rented a 1250GS and toured the island in style. All I can say is... if any of you have any inkling of going... DO IT. Even though we were on the wrong side of the road, the road conditions themselves were way better than I expected, the cagers are way less selfish than typical Nashville drivers, and the scenery is amazing.
There are several companies that offer the rental packages, we went with Celtic Rider (www.motorental.ie) Paul Rawlins, the proprietor, was great to deal with, very communicative and knowledgeable. The tour we chose included all of the accommodations, and a GPS programmed with the fun routes to get everywhere, as well as suggestions for sightseeing and meals. They also had a full complement of Klim gear for rental, for us folks who didn't want to fly with any more than we had to.
It wasn't cheap... but absolutely the best money I've spent in a minute. Definitely worth considering.
Hope everyone is good, and keep the rubber side down!
