This is the first generation of the K1200LT which has the non servo-assist ABS and manual center stand. If you know these bikes you know that later bikes were equipped with the servo-assist brake system and electro-hydraulic center stand. Both were prone to premature failure. This bike has a manual center stand and is no harder to put on the center stand than my 2006 R1200RT, which is not difficult at all.
Mechanically the bike is a 10 of 10. I purchased it in Denver, Colorado in October of 2022, while waiting for my daughter to give birth and rode it home afterwards. In March 2023 I rode it to New Mexico, via southwest Texas, a total of 5000 miles, in utter comfort with no problems. Since then I have ridden around Middle Tennessee and done the few touchups and upgrades described below.
Cosmetically this bike is 9 out of 10, it does have a few scratches in the paint, and I have repaired a two spots on the chrome trim due to peeling.
I recently repainted the lower fairing which had paint chips and a couple of scrapes in the plastic from parking lot tip overs.
