The storm changed my travel plans. If anyone wishes to ride over together I'm going on Friday through Tellico Plains and Cherokee.

Yes, he would have convinced me if I weren't already convinced. Being able to do this on somebody else's bike at no financial risk is a strong inducement.
I only wish I could do this sooner.

Best on-road training and safety class I ever had was the off-road BMW training class.
As a riding novice with little to no experience it gave me the basic skills and confidence to handle (or avoid) most anything. In hindsight, important to me was my heightened awareness with my everyday riding, with all the little and unplanned encounters through wet grass, gravel, mud, unexpected hills, rocks, ruts, water crossings, trash on the highway, et cetera. Included in the cost was BMW providing the bike so mine was undamaged. It helped me know what I could handle and just as importantly it taught me what I could not do without more experience or training. The class was more fun than I can describe and I remember falling off the provided 1200 GS a dozen times and going completely over the handle-bars 3 times - I learned a lot. I was never a great rider and learned what my limits were and where more training was needed. Made it to Alaska and back through over 1,000 miles of gravel and mud. Did the backroads of all 50 states and every Canadian Province and for me the BMW class was invaluable. Highly recommend the class to anyone riding a bike, especially if new or lacking experience, and anyone looking to ride the backroads or where you do not know what you might encounter. We have already heard from several experienced riders how much they enjoyed the class so it seems there is something for everyone.
Good luck.

4 of us, from the club, did the 2 day course this past weekend. Learned a lot and had a great time. All on their bikes. No liability if you drop etc.
Well worth it.

Other dates may be eligible for the promotional pricing and it's possible other courses may be as well. There's nothing on the website so you'll have to call to find out.

I highly recommend the course - was an excellent experience and well worth the investment. I learned a lot and met some amazing fellow riders.
