June 30th will be Polly Wright's 90th birthday.


If you are new to the club you may not have met her. Polly and her husband founded the BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville. Her membership number is 37. To put that in perspective, new membership numbers are in the 1200's. She is a strong and spirited woman and at times has been affectionately called our "Den Mother." Until recent years she has been very active in the club, attending every meeting and most of the events. She has been the membership chair, managed the monthly newsletter when it was a mailed piece, and been the sign up coordinator for The European Riders Rally every year. 


To honor her we are putting together a visit, this Sunday, June 29th at 3:00. There will be cake and out of tune birthday singing as well as flowers. Please join us. Feel free to bring your spouse or kids or significant other etc.


If we have a large enough group I would love to assemble nearby and ride in as a group. Final details will come as I get a headcount. PLEASE RSVP so I can plan accordingly.

Ouch, unfortunately that is the the scheduled weekend of the big Cheekwood car and bike show and I’m committed to that event.   The Cheekwood date was changed due to predicted storms and it might have to be rescheduled again.  Hope that the turnout for Polly will be a large one.  Polly is one amazing lady and deserves all the expression of appreciation that we can give her.   I only wish the younger club members could have experienced what that lovely lady has done for our club for all those many years.

It seems we have a lot of cars and maybe not so many motorcycles. Let’s all meet at Polly’s to make it simpler. Motorcycles park in the yard and we can make a photo opp around them.

I'm pretty sure I met Polly at the first ERR I went to in 2012, nice lady.  I cannot attend due to previous commitments.  I wonder who has taken over as matriarch of the club....
