Hey, all. Just to add to the dataset: I have Progressive for motorcycles and Central for home and cars. Central has handled a couple home-related problems well. I have not had to test Progressive.

I was just reading this article about Ari Henning’s parents losing their home and a bunch of motorcycles.

Best wishes!

Stanley, as I believe we recently might have discussed, I have been with Farm Bureau for everything – home, cars and motorcycles and have been happy and stopped getting quotes as no one could beat them.  When I totaled my other GS about 5 years ago, they paid with no questions and was a bit more than I expected.

Stan, I have been with State Farm for as long as I can remember.  When a deer ran into my bike, State Farm was great.  I took pictures of the damage, they prepared a quote based on the photos, and I had the funds deposited into my account the same day.  There were a couple of items they did not pick up on the initial quote, but when I brought it to their attention, they immediately paid for the expenses.

Thanks for all the input.  I have been with FB for years and don't take changing insurance lightly, but it is easy to get complacent.   I will take all of your experiences and weigh it out.

thx

Just to be the standout, I have my home, auto, bike and business with Erie. I’ve not had to make any claims, but my friend Howard is my agent and he rides. It was cheaper than progressive.

I have Progressive. All I can say is that I recommend you steer clear of Allstate and their independent agents.  For example, Progressive insures my GS, open class dirtbike and street legal SXS for about the same money that Allstate insured only my Roadglide.  Plus, if Allstate claims safety course discount, don't believe it. I called them, emailed them, etc. stating that I was cancelling my policy with them due to selling the HD.  6 months later they claimed that for some reason I owed them $62.... I was not in good hands with Allstate.

I also have USAA for everything except the bikes are through Progressive.  I've never had to have a claim with Progressive, but USAA has always been great.

Similar to Bill earlier. Everything with USAA except bikes. Bikes are with Progressive, a partner with USAA. So I get the bundling.
Progressive for 20+ years. Great service. Some point we discovered that my info was never updated to married for some 8 years. They went back and corrected it and issued a refund for each of those years. I was sold.

We had our home and cars with Farm Bureau for over twenty years.  We had our motorcycles with progressive.

We bundled all with Progressive to save a few bucks….Im also cheap. Long story short, I hit a deer visiting our grandkids in Pennsylvania.  We were very unhappy with the poor service from Progressive and the “special attention” (long, long wait time for damage evaluation and repair) from the collision shop once they found out Progressive was our insurance company.

We switched back to Farm Bureau for our home and cars. Stayed with progressive for the bikes.

Within a month of returning to Farm Bureau we were hit with a hail storm. Farm Bureau sent someone out to assess the damage shortly after calling them for a free assessment of our roof. We had a check in hand within a week.

The old saying is “you get what you pay for”, in our experience we would advise anyone not to switch to save a few bucks.

They might save you a few dollars on the front end but it’s not worth the hassle that occurs when you need them to service a claim.

Just our opinion. Others might have a completely different experience and perspective. Hope our reply helps in some way.  Good luck. 👍

I’ve had Progressive for my bikes since USAA stopped insuring them. I think their rates are good and they have been great to work with on the two claims I’ve had. Everything else is insured with USAA.

I know I am going to regret this post, but I will anyway.

I currently have Farm Bureau for home and all vehicles including bikes and am shopping because I am cheap. Does anyone have experience with Progressive for home and vehicles? I contacted a local broker and they did not quote Progressive for home. I imagine you get a better deal with bundling.

Please weigh in on Progressive or any other company you have experience with and is prone to pay a claim if needed.

Thanks
