March 21 was a hard ride for Larry Marcum.  I will put Larry on my prayer list so I can pray for him every night when I say my bedtime prayers.  God bless Larry.

Thank you Douglas, for the update on Larry.   Maybe all of our prayers will bring him around to a full recovery.  I know they have helped my son.  Please keep us up on his status.

Thanks again.

Polly
Thanks for the update! Praying for Larry's full recovery. If Pat needs anything please let us know.
Thanks

Thank you, Douglas, for keeping us up to date.

I cannot imagine how difficult it is for his family not to see him all this time!  Given the added pressure of COVID-19, I am sure they could use lots of support!

Larry Marcum Update –– Day 8 Since Crash

Saturday 28 March 2020

Larry was injured last Saturday, March 21, 2020.

His wife, Pat, says Larry is still in the trauma unit, has a broken collar bone and 14 broken ribs – he took quite a hit. Fortunately, there does not appear to be any loose bone fragments creating additional problems.  She has not seen him yet and phone conversations for Larry are difficult and tiring.  His condition is serious but improving daily.  There is still a section of collapsed lung, difficulty breathing and breathing is not without pain. Managing his oxygen levels is one of the primary concerns.  It appears his lumbar fractures will not require any surgical intervention.  The drain tubes are still in his chest and she thinks he has only had to have 1 more pint of blood (now at 6 or 7 pints).

Pat thinks it is too early to try and contact him but maybe next week.  She will let us know if Larry has not tried to reach out himself.

She thanks those who were with him because they, along with the decision to life flight, most likely saved his life.

It will be a long road to recovery and Larry told Pat he appreciates everyone’s thoughts and prayers, keep them coming.
