That is very optimistic news from you Bert. We have missed you both at our meetings and look forward to hearing even better news in the future and your return to the club. Give Shirley a hug for me. We will continue to pray for a good recovery. Larry Marcum Sent from my iPhone

First, I am writing this from Shirley‘s hospital room. Well, you know that she came back home fro the re-hab facility 2 days after Christmas. Shirley was attended by a RN, Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist for a while. No real progress was made. In the meantime the had appointments with a neurologist-surgeon with plenty of tests. Anyway, the last appointment was on the third of march. When we where ready to leave, we always had to hire an transport van with wheelchair access, to have to driver take us home, the surgeon told us we have to take her strait to the E.R. and his nurse already called ahead to het us admitted (because if he did not operate on her spine right away — Shirley would be paralyzed in a very few short month — but with surgery we get the problem to stabilize and with luck - - see improvements). ——— yesterday the surgery was performed. I was told that it could be 3 hrs. Surgery was to start at 12:30…. Well, the transport people did not come for her until after 16:30…. Nurses called me in the room and I had to give surgery permission over the phone because Shirley could not hold a pen…. I was updated periodically. But a about 20:30 the surgeon came to the room and informed me that the surgery when better as expected. And could easily see why previous therapy was unsuccessful. Now, however, with very intensive therapy we should see an improvement (9 Month). The surgeon visited Shirley yesterday and today and we already could see some improvements, which gives us great hope for the future….
All the best from Shirley and myself All prayers are still welcome and appreciated.
Drive Safe and we look forward to join again soon!!! Bert
