Great idea Hugh, thank you for your thoughtfulness.  Please take a picture so we can share it with the club.

Thank you, Hugh.  I believe that would be a wonderful thing to do in Larry’s honor.

I like it Hugh. Wish I could be there for Larry’s service.

Hugh:  I think that is a very special thought and thing to do for Larry's memory.  I will let them know just in case they don't get your email.  You are so thoughtful and caring.  Love you for your kindness.  I'll also make sure    the club  is aware of your intentions, in case some of them don't get your email.

Thanks again.
Polly

Dear fellow members,

It is with a sad heart that I reach out to you seeking your thoughts and opinions.

As you may  know, the Club planted a white Dogwood tree near the pavilion at the Burkesville Rally site in honour of Carson Wright.  In 2018,  to remember and honour Polly's daughter, Connie, I planted a pink Dogwood tree near Carson's tree.  They look lovely growing  together.

With your approval, I would like to plant a Yoshino Flowering Cherry tree nearby Carson's and Connie's trees in memory of Larry.

With your approval and in lieu of me coming to Larry's services, I will go to Burkesville on Wednesday and plant the tree during his visitation time.  I will use this time to think of you all,  and especially of  Larry and his family.

When I planted Connie's tree, I spoke to a worker there at the rally site.  I asked him to help take care of Connie's tree and gratefully,  he did.  I'll try to do the same with Larry's tree.

If this meets with your approval, I will plant the tree on Wednesday.  My thoughts will be with you all.

God's peace, Larry.  You were a gift.

Respectfully,
Hugh Bland
Thank you, Doug.
Hugh, what a wonderful thing to do.  I will pass this on to the family and I am comfortable enough to know they will feel honored and thankful.
Will print this email and give it to Larry's wife Pat and his daughter Micah and son Matthew.

Take care,
Hope to see you soon
Douglas

Rick, I am still in disbelief.   Had just talked to him.

Larry Marcum Memorial Service

What happened: Larry died Friday afternoon, June 3, 2022 about 5:30 PM as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was returning home after checking the route for the Club Ride that would take place the next morning, before the annual picnic. Larry was going to lead the ride. He ran off the road and the likely cause was a "medical event".
