Author Last Post

The Larry Marcum Work Day for this Saturday, November 5, is rain or shine at this time.

The forecast for Saturday looks wet. Is this a rain or shine event?

thanks

Hi Don, thanks for your generous offer on the hotel rooms.  We will see what we can do about getting a list of names to you!

Doug,

This is great , thank you and the Club for putting this together. Unfortunately I mending from a "bump the road" .

I would like to send funds for refreshments or whatever is needed.  I also will have a  moment on Friday night at Eldridge Children to remember Larry.

If those that are attending our 20th anniversary of the event would give me a head count and names ,  I'll see that in honor of Larry I get rooms at Hampton Inn Winfield, AL for $50 per room.. share a room and split that... I do need advance notice to reserve the room via of me.  More info later.

Friday night Dec 2nd. Meal furnished and transportation.
The event always the First Saturday in December.  This year...December 3rd.

Please send an address and whom to make a check out to, for the work day funds for whatever needed..

My regrets for not being there to help in person, I want to help in this way please.

Thanks
Don G Norwood

Keith, thanks for thinking of Larry.  Enjoy your trip.  Sounds like a lot of fun.
We will talk about you since you will not be there😂
Thanks
Douglas

Charles, we will put you down in the "willing but disabled" group.😉 We have several others that want to be there but also have prior commitments.
Thanks
Douglas

Glad to see such a great response to this and wish I could join, but will be out of town for a cruise.

Yes, I have dropped a few.  Most of them have landed where I expected.

Doug

I’ll be bringing loppers, a telescopic pool with branch saw on it, and a Stihl gas powered hedge trimmer.

Are we expecting to take down trees?

Thanks

John

It’s great that you guys are pitching in on this project and I wish that I could be there to take part.  Unfortunately, on Nov the first, I will be having hand surgery to repair an arthritic thumb joint, a common problem for those in my age group, so I would be more than my usual useless on the 5th.  We all know that if the situation were reversed, Larry would be the first guy to sign up.  Again, I commend those of you that are taking part in this event and I hope that you will have a great day.

Sure if nobody’s too stressed about where it falls.🙂

Great, will put you down for that.  If I remember you are highly skilled at cutting down big trees???☺

Doug
I am pretty good at and enjoy pruning so I would like to volunteer to lead and or take part in that aspect of the cleanup around the house.  I also have the tools which I plan to bring.

Wanted to give everyone an update on the Larry Marcum work day at his house in Bethesda. The response has been great (as expected) and we have 14 volunteers to date. Weather permitting, all the work should be done in one day. Below is a photo of 1 section of the 1/2 mile driveway from several years ago. We will be doing both sides of the driveway and landscaping/shrubs at the house. Larry and Pat's address is 6636 Cross Keys Rd., College Grove, TN 37046, So far those who can come are:

Chris Aycock, Douglas Pittman, Ed Zarb, Jim Allen, John Fromhold, Lee Waggoner, Michael Umphres, Phil Stoner, Ray Moss, Rod McDonald, Ron Brant, Skip Neuhoff, Stanley Bryan, Steve Robbins.

Dusty, Larry's son-in-law, will be letting us know what tools would be helpful and I will get this information out in advance.

Thanks to all who can come and food will be provided. As for now, we will work rain or shine unless it is just raining too hard.

Douglas Pittman

I plan to be there. Glad you were able to get the details started.
