BMWMCON - Chatin'

Women’s Motorcycle Conference Online
JENNIFER ESKEW
I have big news to share! I’m moderating at the first ever Online Women’s Motorcycle Conference.

Women’s Motorcycle Tours is reinventing community by gathering women riders from
all over the world, together in one place: online! Join me and over two dozen other incredible presenters from every discipline of riding and every corner of the industry this weekend, on April 17-18.

Our focus is reinvention: redefining connection over two days of education and insights.

The networking sessions (which is what I'm doing) will also be live-streamed to the Motorcycle Confidence & Exploration Facebook Group. You do NOT have the join the Facebook group or register to be able to network.

We are pretty sure this event is an industry-first, so I'm super excited!

If you know some women riders who are cooped up when they should be ready to ride, this is a great way to stay engaged and meet other like-minded riders. Men are *more than welcome* to attend!

We have women inventors, gear designers, crash-survivors, racers, RTW riders, makers and mechanics. Some of the presenters and panels may be familiar to you. The 2019 Iron Butt Rally Winner Wendy Crockett is presenting. Lori "Killgurl" Cannon (Tail of the Dragon photographer Killboy's wife)
is a crash survivor talking about getting back on two wheels. Tricia Szulewski has worked in the motorcycle publishing industry for more than 20 years. Anya Violet is the co-founder and brand director of Atwyld and the co-founder of Babes Ride Out. Brittany Morrow is known world-wide as the "road rash queen" and spent several years with ICON. Joanne Donn is the founder of GearChic as well as a gear expert and marketer at Revzilla.

I would love it if you'd come check out this group of badass women riders!

Thanks! I have no idea what I did to get asked to be in this conference.

But it's not about me - it's about the ridership. To be honest, I was skeptical at first (I mean, an online rally, seriously?) but after all the meetings and practice sessions this week, I am so super pumped! These women are the most serious riders I've ever met (and I do personally know several of them) and they all do amazing things for the industry. Every rider can learn something from them.

Hey, all –

I’m following all the news about Larry Marcum’s ordeal. I don’t know Larry well (thus have not been replying), but I know who Larry is and feel a camaraderie with you all in praying for his swift, complete recovery. I’m not surprised, but nevertheless touched by the concern you all are showing. I’m heartened by the chat this morning that sounds quite hopeful for Larry.

In other news, I want you to know that we can all be EVEN MORE proud of the club’s Communications Director, Jennifer Eskew. I attended a little over an hour of the discussion that Jen moderated, and it was GREAT! Jen was her usual, frank, warm, funny, insightful self and she made others feel comfortable sharing lots of good information. It’s so cool to hear all the individual experiences of something we all share, and the participants – mostly women – included some super-experienced riders in all different styles, ages, locations around the world – so impressive!

With a little more advance notice, I would’ve set aside time to attend/participate in most/all of the conference. Just from the brief discussion I heard, I learned two things I’m going to incorporate into my practice:

  • Jennifer’s hiker’s trick of wearing inner lining socks with outer socks.
  • Practicing laying one’s bike (gently) on the ground and then picking it up so that it’s something one is familiar with as well as to know which muscles to build to make it easier!

If you haven’t checked out the range of topics discussed and the group of badass women riders, it will blow your mind:

Thank you, Jennifer, for helping to make the first ever Online Women’s Motorcycle Conference come off brilliantly!
