Hey, all –
I’m following all the news about Larry Marcum’s ordeal. I don’t know Larry well (thus have not been replying), but I know who Larry is and feel a camaraderie with you all in praying for his swift, complete recovery. I’m not surprised, but nevertheless touched by the concern you all are showing. I’m heartened by the chat this morning that sounds quite hopeful for Larry.
In other news, I want you to know that we can all be EVEN MORE proud of the club’s Communications Director, Jennifer Eskew. I attended a little over an hour of the discussion that Jen moderated, and it was GREAT! Jen was her usual, frank, warm, funny, insightful self and she made others feel comfortable sharing lots of good information. It’s so cool to hear all the individual experiences of something we all share, and the participants – mostly women – included some super-experienced riders in all different styles, ages, locations around the world – so impressive!
With a little more advance notice, I would’ve set aside time to attend/participate in most/all of the conference. Just from the brief discussion I heard, I learned two things I’m going to incorporate into my practice:
- Jennifer’s hiker’s trick of wearing inner lining socks with outer socks.
- Practicing laying one’s bike (gently) on the ground and then picking it up so that it’s something one is familiar with as well as to know which muscles to build to make it easier!
If you haven’t checked out the range of topics discussed and the group of badass women riders, it will blow your mind:

Thank you, Jennifer, for helping to make the first ever Online Women’s Motorcycle Conference come off brilliantly!
