Larry Marcum Update
Monday 6 April 2020 - Update as of Sunday night the 5th – Day 16
Below is the most complete update I can give and it comes from Larry’s daughter a few days ago. Things are pretty much the same. It has been a roller coaster ride. Anyone who knows Larry knows he is a fighter.

Day 14: It’s been 2 weeks since my dad’s accident. He remains in the Trauma ICU at Vanderbilt, with still no visitors allowed. He is still on the ventilator and yesterday evening he was actually sitting up watching the evening news and communicating, non-verbally, with a hand shake to the nurse and some thumbs-up gestures. It sounded like he had a really good day. We were so encouraged to hear this. We were also told he has a blood clot in his neck, where his central line IV had been placed. This an extremely unfortunate and serious complication added to his already long list of injuries. In order to treat this, he needs to be on a blood thinner. The first one they tried caused his internal bleeding to start again. They stopped the medication and had to give him 2 more units of blood. The have switched to a different medication and will watch him closely. Please keep your continued prayers coming. Pray that his bleeding stops, the blood clot doesn’t move and dissolves, and that his pneumonia clears up. He’s fighting so hard. We just have to get past the speed bumps in the road.
Last night, Sunday the 5th, Larry’s wife said the clot is still there and his vital signs are stable. She appreciates the thoughts and prayers. Her daughter, son-in-law and grand children are taking good care of her.
